Now, already one quarter into 2017, we’ve seen some patterns emerge in the realm of digital marketing, with a few clear trends emerging. Some of these trends are no-brainers (but good reminders), others are new, even to us.

1. Content is still king, but its form may vary

No digital marketing strategy can do without top quality content. This is a trend that has been there for years, and it will continue to be so. However, the form of this content is going to vary now. From only the written format, we are going to see the focus get shifted more towards visual content.

2. User engagement is going to the key

Gone are the days when direct ads and that hard call-to-action was the only way to sell the products. The rise of the Internet has given people access to plenty of information which was not available earlier, leaving them more educated and aware than ever before. This is the reason that digital marketing has now become more about storytelling and interacting with the customer rather than hardcore selling.

3. Influencer marketing

A brand with social proof is always going to do well because human beings are social creatures. This has given rise to a completely new facet of digital marketing which we term as “influencer marketing”.

To make a BIG impact for your business, getting an influencer to talk about your product or service can work wonders. And this is something which is going to dominate not just 2017 but years to come as well.
