Andy Nelson

Lead Videographer

Andy Nelson is a photographer and multimedia producer with more than 25 years of visual storytelling experience. He has traveled on assignment in the United States and abroad to cover such wide-ranging stories as the war in Iraq, food insecurity in Africa, the aftermath of natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina, and the U.S. Olympic Trials.

Nelson lives in Eugene, Oregon where he is a visual journalist with The Register-Guard newspaper. He began his career in Eugene in 1988 and returned to the Pacific Northwest in 2014 after working in Washington, DC, Bangkok, Thailand, and Manhattan, Kansas. From 1997 to 2008, he was the Washington, DC-based staff photographer for The Christian Science Monitor where he covered stories in more than 30 countries, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, tsunami recovery efforts in Indonesia and Sri Lanka, Kosovo refugee crisis, three U.S. presidential campaigns, the impeachment hearings of President Bill Clinton and numerous feature stories throughout the United States and worldwide. Andy’s work has won awards in the Pictures of the Year competition as well as the White House News Photographers Association annual contest.

In 2008, Nelson moved to Thailand where he worked on multimedia projects for NGOs and covered breaking news events in Southeast Asia. From 2010 to 2014, Nelson was the R.M. Seaton Professional Journalism Chair at Kansas State University sharing his insights and experience with a new generation of journalists.

Steve Hebert

Lead Videographer

Steve Hebert is an award-winning documentary photographer who has worked extensively for both The New York Times and Wall Street Journal. Steve has a natural ability for asking the right questions to capture powerful messages and applies his experience as a photojournalist to engage and communicate our client’s key messages.

His passion to uncover compelling stories has taken him across the country and around the world. He has spent over 15 years working professionally for newspapers and magazines including Pro Publica, Time, US News and World Report, Business Week, The New York Times, LA Times, Boston Globe, and Wall Street Journal. His ongoing project, “The Quiet Professionals,” is a photo book that features unprecedented documentation of the US Special Forces. Steve is one of the only photojournalists to have been granted access to embed with the Green Berets in Afghanistan, Iraq, Colombia, Africa and the Philippines.

Jesse Nordhausen

Lead Sound Recordist

Jesse Nordhausen studied music at the University of Oregon, with a focus on music technology. Stemming from an interest in field recording of live music, combined with capture of real-world sounds for use in musical composition, the transition was natural into the career of a Location Sound Recordist. After graduating in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Music, he began working as a sound mixer for independent feature films being produced in the Pacific Northwest. He has resided and worked primarily in the Portland area since 2001, and has collaborated on projects including documentaries, corporate communications, commercials, sports, live news, mobile apps, radio, television and dramatic features.
